About Moses
Moses DeWitt built his legal path through two southeastern universities before launching his own practice. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Emory University in 2006 and completed his law degree at Florida State University College of Law in 2010. Those years shaped both his approach to courtroom work and his interest in tort and trial practice.
Fresh out of law school, DeWitt set up the DeWitt Law Office, P.A. in 2010. He began practicing in Florida and has maintained that office as the base of his work since. The decision to open a solo firm gave him immediate responsibility for client intake, case strategy and trial preparation. It also required him to handle the administrative side of running a firm, a steady task alongside litigation.
Early in his career he took an active role in professional organizations. He served in multiple positions within the American Bar Association’s Tort, Trial, and Insurance Practice Section, including Vice-Chair of the Law Student Board from 2010 to 2011 and Vice-Chair of the PODL Committee from 2008 to 2011. He was also a member of the Task Force on Outreach to Law Students during 2010 to 2011. Those roles put him in contact with a broad network of trial attorneys and young lawyers, and exposed him to organized bar work at a national level.
DeWitt’s local bar involvement includes membership in the Orange County Bar Association. That connection keeps him plugged into regional developments in Florida law and provides a forum for continuing legal education and local professional ties.
On the substance of his practice, his ABA roles point to regular engagement with tort and trial issues. He handles matters that require courtroom presence, advocacy, and an understanding of insurance-related litigation. He balances casework with the day-to-day responsibilities of managing a small firm. Clients who come to him generally find a lawyer who chairs preparation and moves cases toward trial when necessary.
Courtroom work, bar service and the operation of a single-office firm define much of his professional life. He stays in Florida, practicing from DeWitt Law Office, P.A., where his work centers on civil litigation, trial practice and insurance-related matters.
