About Moseley
Moseley Matheson earned his J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2010 after completing a B.S. in Business Administration and Economics at Greensboro College in 2001. His academic path combined business training and legal studies, preparing him for work that crosses courtroom and organizational lines.
Before law school Matheson worked as a regional financial information analyst for Sherwin Williams Company in 2000. During his time in law school he gained hands-on experience in public defense and capital punishment issues, interning at the Durham County Public Defender's Office and externing with the ACLU Capital Punishment Project in 2010. The following year he volunteered as an assistant district lawyer in the Harnett County District Lawyer's Office.
Matheson moved into private practice shortly after. He opened Matheson Law Office in 2011 and continued to build his practice. In 2017 he became principal of Matheson and Associates, PLLC. That role put him in charge of case handling, client intake and firm administration.
He is admitted to practice in North Carolina, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, and he holds admission to the U.S. Supreme Court. The North Carolina State Bar has listed him as licensed since 2010. He maintains memberships in the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association and the Wake County Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is also affiliated with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the 10th Judicial District Bar Association and the North Carolina St. Andrew's Society.
His early clerkships and volunteer work provided courtroom exposure and sharpened his familiarity with trial-level procedures. Those experiences informed his transition to firm leadership and to work that frequently requires litigation skills. He has handled matters filed in both state and federal venues.
As principal at Matheson and Associates, PLLC, he manages client matters and oversees litigation strategy for the firm. He is active in the local bar community and continues to practice in state and federal courts. His current practice centers on litigation in state and federal courts.
