Monica Ariel Mihell is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1983. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Mihell is the managing partner at Mihell Law, A.P.C., a law firm located in Santa Monica, California. She has been practicing law for over 40 years, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
Ms. Mihell earned her Juris Doctor degree from Whittier College School of Law, where she graduated in 1983. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at an undisclosed institution, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree. During her time at Whittier College School of Law, she was actively involved in various legal organizations and participated in the school's clinical legal education program.
Ms. Mihell concentrates her practice in the areas of probate law, elder law, estate planning, and conservatorships. She represents individuals and families in matters involving probate administration, probate litigation, will contests, and conservatorship proceedings. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Mihell has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Ms. Mihell is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She holds membership in the Trusts and Estates Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She has also served as a mediator, an arbitrator, a voluntary settlement officer, and a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children. Ms. Mihell is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of Los Angeles County effectively.
