About Ramon

Ramon Lamelas studied Spanish and political science at the University of Southern California, graduating with a B.S. in 2004. He returned to Southern California to earn his J.D. from the University of La Verne College of Law in 2011. Those years in school combined language, civic study and law, shaping a practice that crosses both transactional and interpersonal lines.

He began his professional career outside the law in marketing and business development. In 2012 he served as vice president of marketing and business development for RJL Builders. That role put him on the operational side of real estate development and introduced him to the commercial relationships and documentation that later mattered in legal work.

In 2016 Lamelas founded Mission: Real Estate Education, a venture aimed at demystifying property transactions for buyers and sellers. The enterprise reflected his interest in the intersection of real estate and public information. Two years later he moved into law firm practice, joining Velasco Law Group in 2018 as a trusts and estates lawyer. There he handled estate planning and related probate matters, work that built on his earlier exposure to real property and client-facing education.

In 2021 Lamelas joined Jakle, Alexander & Patton, LLP as a trusts and estates lawyer. His responsibilities there include drafting wills and trusts, advising on probate administration and counseling clients on transfer strategies for family and business assets. That position formalized a career path that moved from marketing and education into estate law and real property issues.

Lamelas maintains active memberships in several professional organizations. He holds a board position with the Santa Monica Bar Association and is a member of ProVisors, a professional networking group. He belongs to the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section. He has participated in the Trusts and Estates Section since 2018 and was a member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Trusts & Estates, Real Estate and Young Lawyers sections from 2018 through 2021.

Colleagues describe him as practical and detail-oriented in client matters, and his background in business development and public education informs how he communicates complex concepts to clients. He has experience handling both the transactional drafting of estate documents and the procedural work of probate administration.

He lives and practices in California and, as of 2026, lists his office at Jakle, Alexander & Patton, LLP. His current practice centers on trusts and estates, probate administration and real property matters.
