About Mohamed

Mohamed Mewafy began his academic path at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies in 2008. He went on to study law at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and received his J.D. in 2013. Those years of study combined classroom work with exposure to the procedural side of law, preparing him for practice in two neighboring states.

After law school he established credentials in both New York and New Jersey and built a practice that crosses state lines. Admission to both bars has allowed him to appear in state courts and to work on matters that involve overlapping jurisdictions. Over time he has translated academic training into everyday courtroom and office work.

His day-to-day work covers the staples of general practice. He counsels clients, prepares pleadings, negotiates settlements and appears in court. He handles pretrial preparation, motions and client interviews. The work requires attention to procedure and an ability to explain legal options in plain terms. Colleagues describe him as methodical; clients see a lawyer who prioritizes clarity.

He is the principal of The Mewafy Law Office PLLC. The firm handles matters for clients in both New York and New Jersey and operates as a local practice serving regional needs. Running a small firm means balancing courtroom appearances with the administrative work of maintaining client relationships, billing, and case management. That operational side shapes the way cases are staffed and the pace at which matters move forward.

Outside courtrooms and filings, he has maintained an interest in how state-level rules affect everyday disputes. That practical orientation shows in the way files are prepared and in the attention paid to deadlines. It also informs how he evaluates settlement options versus trial. He keeps current on changes in practice rules and state procedure to ensure filings meet local requirements.

In 2026 he continues to lead his practice out of The Mewafy Law Office PLLC, serving clients who need representation in New York and New Jersey. His practice currently centers on representing clients in state and administrative matters across New York and New Jersey.
