About Miles Frederick
Miles Frederick Ehrlich is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005 and holds bar number 237954. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Ehrlich is a founding partner at Ehrlich & Craig LLP, a law firm specializing in white-collar criminal defense and government investigations, located in Berkeley, California. He has been practicing law for over two decades, serving clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Mr. Ehrlich earned his Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School in 1992, graduating first in his class. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Harvard University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. During his time at Stanford, he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as an Articles Editor on the Stanford Law Review. Before attending law school, he worked as a legislative assistant to then-Congressman Charles E. Schumer of New York.
Mr. Ehrlich concentrates his practice in the areas of white-collar criminal defense and government investigations. He represents individuals and corporations in matters involving major financial frauds, securities and investment fraud, trade secret theft, crypto enforcement, antitrust violations, insider trading, and public corruption. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ehrlich has handled cases in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Before entering private practice, he served as a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy and to Judge William A. Norris on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of the White Collar Crime Section in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California from 2000 to 2005.
Mr. Ehrlich is an active member of the California State Bar and has been recognized by Chambers USA as a Band 1 lawyer in Litigation: White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations. He has also been selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer from 2012 to 2026. In addition to his legal practice, he has served as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center and has lectured at the FBI Academy in Quantico and the Justice Department’s National Advocacy Center. He speaks regularly on criminal justice topics at Stanford Law School, Berkeley Law School, and the Northern District’s Judicial Conference.
