About Milene
Milene Hernandez trained at Rutgers University–Newark and began her legal path in New Jersey’s family courts. She spent time early in her career observing the daily mechanics of the courtroom and recording the deliberations that shape family law practice.
Her first notable role came in 2002 when she served as a law clerk in the Family Court in Essex County. That position placed her close to contested custody hearings, support disputes and the procedural work that underpins domestic relations cases. The clerkship offered a practical schooling in court calendars, orders and the paperwork judges rely on.
After her time in Essex County she entered private practice and concentrated on family law matters. Over the years she has handled a mix of contested and uncontested matters. Her work has included case preparation, negotiation and courtroom representation. She is comfortable drafting pleadings, preparing clients for hearings and managing discovery in family law disputes.
Hernandez holds a degree from Rutgers University–Newark. She has kept ties to the communities where she has worked, and her practice reflects attention to both procedural detail and client communication. Colleagues note that her early exposure to the inner workings of family court informs how she prepares cases today.
She is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and Florida. That dual admission allows her to advise and represent clients whose matters touch more than one state. It also means she navigates differing state procedures and timelines when handling interstate family law issues.
