About Mike

Mike Regitz built a legal career that crosses technology, patents and privacy law. He began at Texas A&M, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1993. He then enrolled at Southern Methodist University, completing his Juris Doctor in 2005. While still in law school he worked as a patent agent, an early sign of where his practice would head.

His first professional role listed is as a patent agent and lawyer at Hemingway & Hansen in 2004. He joined Norton Rose Fulbright in 2006, practicing as a lawyer in a large firm environment. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association, both since 2005. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Circuit and the Fifth Circuit.

Regitz has combined patent prosecution and litigation practice over the years. He is a registered U.S. patent lawyer at the USPTO, which has allowed him to handle patent filings and related proceedings. He has experience taking matters beyond district court levels, including appeals at the Federal Circuit. His background as a patent agent provided technical and procedural grounding early in his career; his later work expanded into federal appellate practice.

He has been active in bar and community groups. He served as president of the Texas Aggie Bar Association from 2012 to 2013. He was a director of the St. Thomas More Society from 2016 to 2018. Those roles placed him in membership circles that connect alumni, practitioners and civic leaders in Texas.

Regitz holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. That certification signals formal training in privacy law’s regulatory and compliance dimensions. Combined with his patent credentials, it allows him to handle matters at the intersection of intellectual property and privacy policy.

In 2015 he is listed as a lawyer at RegitzMauck. That office name appears as his current professional affiliation. His practice blends patent prosecution, appellate work and privacy counseling. He represents clients before the USPTO and in federal courts where patent and privacy issues arise.

Colleagues describe his path as one that moved from technical patent work into broader intellectual property and privacy practice. He continues to maintain active bar memberships and federal admissions. He currently practices at RegitzMauck, handling patent matters, federal appeals and privacy-related issues.
