About Michelle S.
Michelle S. Vargas builds her work on steady legal training and a steady presence in South Florida courtrooms. She studied business at Florida International University, earning a B.B.A. in 2004. She returned to FIU for law school and received her J.D. in 2009. Those years laid the groundwork for a litigation career in the region she continues to serve.
After law school she entered private practice and progressed to a leadership role at her firm. She is a partner at St. Denis & Davey, where she handles matters that reach both state and federal forums. Her role as partner encompasses case strategy, client counseling, and courtroom advocacy. Colleagues describe her work as methodical and grounded in courtroom experience.
Vargas is admitted to practice in Florida and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She brings that admission to bear in matters filed in federal court as well as in Florida state courts. Her docket history includes civil litigation handled across those jurisdictions.
Her practice is shaped in part by the professional organizations she maintains. She is a member of the Cuban American Bar Association, the Dade County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She also holds memberships in the Florida Defense Lawyers Network and the Defense Research Institute, as well as the Hispanic National Bar Association. Those affiliations supply continuing legal education, peer networks and resources for litigators.
Within the firm, Vargas assists clients with pretrial investigation, dispositive motion practice, and trial preparation. She has experience coordinating expert discovery and managing the logistics of complex cases. Her courtroom work includes motion hearings and jury trials, and she routinely engages opposing counsel in settlement discussions when those avenues are appropriate for clients.
Outside the office she participates in association events and attends seminars relevant to civil litigation practice. She balances those professional activities with a practice rhythm typical of a busy litigation partner in Miami and the surrounding counties. Today she continues at St. Denis & Davey representing clients in civil defense litigation in Florida state and federal courts.
