About Michelle L
Michelle L Easter earned her J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2015, after completing her legal studies beginning in 2012. She entered law school following undergraduate preparation and finished during a period when many new attorneys balanced clinic work and part-time positions alongside their studies. Her legal training placed her in Michigan courts and prepared her for federal practice as well.
Her earliest listed legal role came in 2013, when she served as a law clerk for the State of Michigan's Bureau of Employment Relations in Detroit. That position exposed her to administrative hearings and the mechanics of public employment disputes. The work required close review of regulations and procedural rules and familiarity with the operations of state agencies.
After earning her degree, she joined Lakeshore Legal Aid in Port Huron in 2015. At that regional nonprofit she worked as a lawyer, representing clients who lacked access to private counsel. The position involved courtroom appearances, client interviews and drafting pleadings. It also meant confronting constrained resources while trying to secure practical outcomes for people facing housing, benefits or family law issues.
In 2016 she established Easter Law, PLLC, in Port Huron and took on the role of lawyer and owner. Opening a small firm shifted her work to managing client intake and running a practice while remaining in active litigation and advocacy. Managing a firm also brought responsibilities beyond casework, such as supervising administrative tasks and overseeing case strategy.
Her admissions include the Michigan bar and the Federal Circuit. Those credentials allow her to represent clients in state trial matters and in certain federal appellate matters. Her background in public-sector work and later legal aid practice have informed how she approaches procedural and appellate work.
She holds membership in professional organizations and participates in the local legal community. That involvement has included court appearances in and around Port Huron and interactions with both state agency personnel and federal court practitioners. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in courtroom settings and steady in managing case dockets.
She now practices at Easter Law, PLLC in Port Huron, where she represents clients in matters in Michigan state courts and in cases before the Federal Circuit.
