About Michael
Michael Youngs began his legal journey in Colorado. He earned a B.A. from the University of Colorado Denver and completed his law degree at the University of Denver in 1975. Those early years set the direction of a career that has crossed public service and private practice.
He moved into public prosecution immediately after law school, serving as a state prosecutor in Denver in 1975. The work placed him in courtrooms and investigative settings from the outset. A year later he joined the FBI as a special agent–lawyer, a hybrid role that combined investigative work with legal responsibilities. That period exposed him to federal procedure and complex investigative techniques.
After his time with federal law enforcement, Youngs transitioned to private practice. By 2001 he was Senior Lawyer Partner at Youngs and Associates. His career since then has included litigation, case management and supervising other attorneys. He is admitted to practice in multiple jurisdictions: Colorado, Pennsylvania, New York, the District of Columbia and Florida. Those admissions reflect both geographic mobility and a practice that has touched state and federal matters.
Colleagues and clients note the way his early prosecutorial and FBI experience shaped his approach to cases. He has managed matters that required investigative coordination, document review and courtroom presentation. He handles pretrial work as well as trials, often working on cases that involve layered factual investigations and procedural complexity. His background gives him familiarity with how prosecutors and federal agencies build cases, and that perspective informs his litigation strategy.
Youngs maintains offices in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, where he continues to work on active cases and advise clients. He has maintained a steady practice rhythm over decades, balancing casework with mentoring younger lawyers at his firm. He remains involved in litigation and investigative matters, often applying the practical lessons he learned in prosecution and federal service to contemporary disputes.
He continues to practice law from his Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices, focusing on litigation and investigations that draw on his years in prosecution and federal law enforcement.
