About Michael

Michael Thicksten trained at the University of Miami School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2014 after studying corporate and business law. He arrived in law school with a clear interest in commercial practice and completed coursework that emphasized transactional principles and corporate governance. The timing of his degree places him among attorneys who entered practice in the mid-2010s and built their early careers during a period of shifting regulatory priorities and growing technology use in legal work.

He began building his professional credentials soon after graduation. He became a Relativity Certified Administrator through Kcura, a credential that signals familiarity with e-discovery platforms and document review workflows. That technical certification sits alongside more traditional bar and association memberships as part of his toolbox.

Thicksten has been involved in several local legal organizations. He has been a member of the Dallas Bar Association and of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers since 2013. He joined the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation as a fellow in 2015. In 2016 he became a member of the Association for Corporate Growth. These affiliations reflect ongoing ties to the Dallas legal and business communities and suggest regular engagement with peers on both the practice and commercial sides of law.

His practice blends corporate and business matters with technology-driven handling of documents and data. He advises on contract drafting and review, supports corporate governance processes, and handles transactional aspects that commonly arise for middle-market companies. At the same time, his Relativity certification indicates an ability to manage the technical elements of discovery and review, an increasingly important skill in complex commercial matters.

Thicksten is listed as an attorney at Bower, PLLC. His role there brings together transactional work and project management tasks that often accompany deals and litigation preparedness. Colleagues describe him as methodical in handling contract terms and attentive to the procedural steps required when electronic records become central to a matter.

He combines traditional corporate training from law school with technical competence in modern legal platforms. That combination informs how he approaches client matters and internal case workflows. He currently concentrates his practice on corporate and business law matters and on the technology aspects of document review and e-discovery.
