About Michael
Michael Sheridan built a straightforward path into law that began in the classroom. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in 1997. He returned to Minnesota for law school and received his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 2005.
He entered practice several years later and took a series of associate positions that shaped his early career. In 2008 he worked at Hoglund Law Office. By 2010 he had spells as an associate at Mansfield, Tanick & Cohen P.A. and at Schleck & Associates P.A. Those years involved day-to-day client work, court appearances and the kind of case volume that quickly teaches courtroom procedure and file management.
In 2012 he opened Atlas Law Office, LLC and continues as its owner and principal attorney. Running a small firm required shifting between casework and office administration. He handles client intake, case preparation and courtroom work. He also supervises the office’s caseflow and contact with courts and trustees.
Sheridan’s professional memberships reflect the body of work he has handled. He has been a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section since 2008. He joined the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers in 2010 and belongs to the Hennepin County Bar Association as well. Those affiliations align with the kinds of matters he has taken on over the years and connect him to continuing legal education and local practice developments.
He is licensed to practice in Minnesota and admitted to practice before the Eighth Circuit. Over time he has handled matters that arise regularly in consumer bankruptcy practice, including creditor negotiations, filing and confirmation proceedings, and related contested matters. His office work ranges from counseling clients at intake to representing them in hearings.
Clients at Atlas Law Office encounter a small-firm setting where Sheridan is personally involved in most phases of a case. The office handles the procedural work required by courts and trustees, and places emphasis on resolving client matters through filings and hearings when necessary. He continues to accept new matters and concentrates on consumer bankruptcy and related legal issues.
