About Michael S. Jan
Michael S. Jan Janin studied at Gannon University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1980. He went on to receive his J.D. from The University of Georgia School of Law in 1983. The path from undergraduate study to law school was direct. His legal education concluded the year he entered practice.
He joined the Pennsylvania bar in 1983 and has practiced since then. He has served as a shareholder at Quinn Law Office since 1983. That long association with one firm has defined much of his professional life and placed him regularly before state and federal tribunals.
Janin is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in several federal courts. His federal admissions include the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials allow him to handle matters at both trial and appellate levels.
He maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar and the Erie County Bar Association, both since 1983. He also belongs to the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers. These affiliations reflect sustained activity in bankruptcy and related areas of consumer law.
In practice, Janin has routinely handled bankruptcy petitions, adversary proceedings, and consumer insolvency matters. He represents individuals and entities in bankruptcy filings and contests. He appears in both state and federal court and has litigated matters that proceed to the bankruptcy court and, when necessary, to the district and circuit courts. His work involves client counseling, preparing filings, and courtroom advocacy.
Colleagues describe him as steady in court and methodical in case preparation. Clients have relied on him for routine chapter filings as well as contested adversary matters. He continues to serve clients out of Quinn Law Office and practices across Pennsylvania. His current practice centers on consumer bankruptcy and related insolvency matters.
