About Jason E
Jason E Piatt brings a mix of technical training and courtroom preparation to his work. He holds advanced degrees in both law and engineering, and a graduate business degree. The combination shapes how he approaches evidence, witness preparation and trial strategy.
His academic record is broad. He earned an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. He received a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. He also holds an MBA from Mount Saint Mary’s University. Before turning to law he completed both a B.S. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering at Bucknell University. The LL.M. provided concentrated instruction in courtroom practice and case development.
Piatt established Piatt Law PLLC, where he serves as a trial lawyer and counselor. The firm handles disputes that often demand careful analysis of technical records and clear presentation of complex facts to judges and juries. His training in engineering informs how he evaluates schematics, test data and expert reports. The MBA complements that background by helping him assess commercial damages and business records.
Colleagues and opposing counsel often note a methodical approach at trial. He prepares exhibits and timelines that aim to make technical material accessible. He trains witnesses to explain complicated processes in plain language. These habits grew out of formal trial training and practical courtroom work.
Cases that tend to come to him involve technical evidence, product performance, electrical systems and commercial disputes with a technical component. He handles pretrial motion practice, discovery disputes and trial hearings. He has worked on matters requiring coordination of experts, depositions of technical personnel and detailed document review. His practice emphasizes clear presentation of fact patterns that might otherwise overwhelm nontechnical decision makers.
Outside the courtroom he focuses on case management and early assessment to set litigation strategy. He places weight on building a coherent narrative supported by demonstrative evidence. That approach reflects both engineering problem-solving and trial advocacy techniques learned in graduate study.
He now practices at Piatt Law PLLC, handling litigation and other matters that raise technical and business issues.
