Michael Robert Ufferman is a board-certified criminal appellate lawyer based in Tallahassee, Florida. He has been practicing law since 1997, focusing on state and federal criminal appeals and postconviction motions. Mr. Ufferman earned his Bachelor of Arts from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1994, graduating cum laude with majors in Political Science and History. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law in 1997, where he served on the law review and graduated magna cum laude. After law school, he clerked for Justice Major B. Harding at the Florida Supreme Court from 1997 to 2002.
In 2002, he joined the Robert Augustus Harper Law Firm in Tallahassee, focusing on criminal appellate work. In 2004, he founded his own firm, Michael Ufferman Law Firm, P.A., which concentrates on state and federal criminal appeals and postconviction motions. Mr. Ufferman is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third, Fifth, Sixth, Ninth. Eleventh Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida. He is also admitted to all state and appellate courts in Florida.
He has handled hundreds of state and federal appellate and postconviction motions, including cases involving charges of murder, robbery, sexual battery, assault, drug trafficking, child pornography, RICO, white-collar crimes.
