About Michael R. Dal
Michael R. Dal Lago earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Northeastern University in 1995. He continued his studies at New York Law School and received his J.D. in 1998. Those academic years preceded a steady entry into law practice and professional memberships that track a clear interest in creditor-debtor work.
He began his legal career in 1999 as an associate at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf. In 2002 he moved to Morrison Cohen, where he served as an associate and later as a partner. His practice expanded over the next decade. In 2012 he took a partner role at Hahn Loeser Parks. Three years later he launched his own firm, Dal Lago Law, in 2015. Over the course of those years he built experience across multiple jurisdictions and firm settings.
Dal Lago is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and Florida. The record shows membership in the New Jersey State Bar beginning in 2000 and in the Florida State Bar beginning in 2012. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the American Bar Association. He served as president of the Southwest Florida Bankruptcy Professionals Association from 2018 to 2019, a role that placed him among local practitioners who specialize in insolvency and related proceedings.
His career path has combined roles inside larger law firms with private practice. At Morrison Cohen and Hahn Loeser Parks he worked on matters typical of mid-size and large firm bankruptcy departments. As a founder of Dal Lago Law, he moved to a practice model that allows for direct client engagement and case management. He has been active in professional organizations that concentrate on bankruptcy law, and he participates in bar activities across the three states where he is licensed.
Today he leads Dal Lago Law and continues to practice across New Jersey, New York and Florida. He represents clients in bankruptcy and insolvency matters and remains involved in the professional networks that address creditor-debtor law and restructuring issues.
