About Michael
Michael Martens built a path to law that began in classrooms rather than courtrooms. He studied political science and government at The George Washington University, and then moved to Brooklyn Law School to earn his J.D. Those degrees shaped how he thinks about public policy and legal strategy. They also set the stage for private practice.
After law school, Martens established himself in the New York and New Jersey legal communities. He is admitted to practice in both states and holds current membership in the New York State Bar. He launched Martens Law PLLC and runs it as a small firm owner. That role has him handling the daily business of a practice and the demands of client work.
Colleagues describe Martens as methodical and exacting in his preparation. He places emphasis on clear writing and careful analysis. He prepares pleadings, reviews records and meets with clients directly. His background in political science informs how he frames legal questions. It also helps when cases touch on regulatory or governmental issues.
Martens has put together a practice that reflects a private practitioner’s priorities. He manages client relationships, oversees case strategy and handles court appearances when required. In running Martens Law PLLC he combines courtroom readiness with the administrative work of a small firm. He keeps the operation lean and practical.
Outside the office, Martens maintains ties to the legal community through his bar membership and local contacts. He follows court decisions and legislative developments that affect his jurisdictions. He also draws on his academic experience when assessing complex legal questions. Martens continues to represent clients through Martens Law PLLC and practices in both New York and New Jersey.
He currently practices through Martens Law PLLC, serving clients in matters across New York and New Jersey.
