About Michael K

Michael K Bialys earned his J.D. from Western State University College of Law in 1998. He completed his legal education at a time when criminal courts were in the news and DUI enforcement was intensifying across California. The degree set the course for a practice tied to the state's criminal justice system.

He began practicing law in California soon after graduation. Early work saw him navigating local court calendars and learning the mechanics of trial practice. He built experience in matters that commonly come before municipal and superior courts, developing a working familiarity with evidentiary hearings, administrative license matters, and the tactical decisions that arise in contested cases.

Over the years his caseload came to include a significant number of driving-under-the-influence matters and related criminal charges. Those cases often require quick decisions about breath and blood testing, negotiation of plea terms, and preparation for trial when issues of probable cause or procedure are disputed. He has handled administrative DMV proceedings as well as arraignments, pretrial motions, and bench and jury trials when necessary.

Colleagues describe him as a pragmatic courtroom advocate who attends to procedural detail. He has represented clients at different stages of the criminal process, from early post-arrest interviews through sentencing. That practical exposure has informed how he assesses evidence and counsel clients about options in and out of court. He also stays current on changes to state law and procedure that affect how DUI cases proceed in California courts.

Today he practices under the name The DUI MAN. His office handles DUI defense and related criminal matters, including cases that involve driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, administrative license challenges, and collateral issues that can follow an arrest. He works in California courts and manages both misdemeanor and felony-level charges when they arise.

The arc of his career runs from a 1998 law degree to a practice concentrated on impaired driving cases and their aftermath. He continues to represent individuals facing DUI and related criminal charges at The DUI MAN.
