About Michael J.
Michael J. Cronkright earned his J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 1995 after completing a B.A. in Business at Spring Arbor College. He entered the legal field in the mid-1990s at a moment that demanded practical courtroom experience and steady client work. The law degree established the formal foundation for a career that would center on criminal matters across state and federal forums.
He co-founded Kronzek & Cronkright, PLLC in 1998. That early partnership anchored his work for nearly two decades and gave him regular exposure to trial practice and appellate work. He built a reputation among colleagues for thorough case preparation and an insistence on clear, direct advocacy. The firm handled a range of criminal matters, and his role there brought repeated appearances in both state courts and federal proceedings in Michigan.
In 2016 he launched Cronkright Law, PLLC. The new firm reflected a shift toward a more individualized practice structure while maintaining the same areas of work. Since then his caseload has continued to include contested hearings, jury trials, and motions practice. He has also taken on cases that require coordination across jurisdictions, a common feature of many criminal prosecutions.
Cronkright is admitted to practice in Michigan and Florida, and he is licensed to appear in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the Western District of Michigan. His professional memberships include the State Bar of Michigan Criminal Law Section and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
