About Michael H.

Michael H. Izsak earned a B.S.B.A. from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 1982 and a J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 1986. His legal education placed him among classmates entering practice in the mid-1980s, a period of shifting courthouse procedures and expanding federal filings. He took those formative years into both clerkship and private practice.

After law school, Izsak served as a legal clerk to the Hon. Robert O. Snyder, then Chief Judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals, in 1987. The clerkship gave him a close view of appellate decision-making and the mechanics of opinion drafting. Later that same year he moved into private practice as a partner at Klutho, Cody, Kilo, Flynn, Billingsley & Trame, PC, where he handled matters typical of a mid-sized firm environment.

In 1998 he became a principal at Klar, Izsak & Stenger, L.L.C. That role positioned him to handle a broader docket and to take on managerial responsibilities within the firm. Over time he developed practice patterns that involved contested matters in both state and federal forums and the logistical work that comes with courtroom preparation, motion practice and trial readiness.

Izsak is admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri, and he holds admissions to several federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Those admissions reflect a practice that crosses state lines and engages the procedural rules that govern federal litigation.

He maintains memberships in professional organizations that align with trial and bar interests. Those affiliations include the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Illinois State Bar Association, and The Missouri Bar. Participation in those groups has kept him connected to developments in trial practice and to peer discussions on litigation strategy and ethics.

Colleagues describe him as someone who builds files carefully and prepares cases for contested resolution. His work has required frequent appearances in trial and appellate settings and coordination across multiple courts. He currently practices at Klar, Izsak & Stenger, L.L.C., where his work centers on litigation in state and federal courts.
