About Michael G.

Michael G. Millward built his legal foundation through formal study and early courtroom experience. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Idaho State University and a Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University. Those degrees led him into a sequence of clerkships and associate roles that exposed him to trial work, courtroom procedure, and client counseling.

His first professional steps were as a law clerk. In 2007 he worked for Delay, Curran, Thompson, Pontarolo & Walker, P.S., and the following year he served as a law clerk for the Ninth Judicial District Court in Nevada. Those positions put him inside courtrooms and behind the scenes of case preparation. He moved into private practice in 2009 as an associate at Nancy Rey Jackson, Ltd., where he began taking on a broader caseload and direct client responsibilities.

The next phase of his career included several associate roles at firms in the region. In 2014 he joined Houghton Jones, APC, and in 2015 he became an associate at Heritage Law Group. Each stop added layers of practical experience in litigation and case management. In 2017 he established Millward Law, Ltd., taking on the title of lawyer and overseeing his own practice operations.

Millward holds admission to practice in both Idaho and Nevada. He has remained active in the local legal community beyond his firm duties. He has served on the Douglas County Bar Association and is noted as a past president of that organization. He also joined the board of Tahoe Youth & Family Services in 2018, where he has been involved in governance and community programs aimed at supporting families and youth services in the area.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in court preparation and straightforward in client conversations. He has moved between public-sector and private-practice roles, and that variety shaped a pragmatic approach to resolving disputes. The record of clerkships, followed by years as an associate and then firm principal, reflects a career spent learning courtroom mechanics and the business of running a practice.

He operates Millward Law, Ltd., and practices across jurisdictions in Idaho and Nevada. He continues to represent clients and manage the firm’s caseload, handling matters for individuals and businesses in those states.
