About Michael
Michael Fernandes earned his undergraduate degree in 2010 from Fairleigh Dickinson University and completed his J.D. at Seton Hall University School of Law in 2014. Those years of study set the groundwork for a practical approach to legal work. He moved from classroom to courtroom equipped with coursework in core subjects and training in legal research and writing.
He began practicing after law school and has spent the past decade building experience across a range of matters. Early in his career he handled routine client counseling and document drafting, tasks that sharpened his attention to detail. Over time he took on more complex filings and appearances, gaining familiarity with procedural rules and courtroom practice. He has continued to refine the core skills that most lawyers rely on: careful analysis, clear writing, and steady advocacy.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and plainspoken. He favors straightforward explanations over legalese. That approach can make technical issues more accessible to clients who are not lawyers. In meetings he tends to break problems down into manageable steps. In court or at the negotiation table he emphasizes preparation and clarity. Those habits reflect a practical mindset formed during his years at Seton Hall and in subsequent practice.
Outside of direct client work, Fernandes has kept active in the broader legal community. He maintains professional memberships that keep him connected to developments in law and practice. Such ties help him stay current on procedural changes and new decisions that may affect clients. He also values mentorship and has taken opportunities to work alongside more experienced attorneys, absorbing procedural knowledge and courtroom technique.
Today he continues to practice law. His day-to-day work includes counseling clients, preparing pleadings, and representing clients in hearings and negotiations. He structures his practice to respond to the immediate needs of those he represents while attending to the longer-term legal consequences of their choices. He currently focuses his practice on serving individual and business clients.
