About Michael
Michael Edwards built a legal path that moves from Midwestern classrooms to courtroom work in Wisconsin. He completed undergraduate studies at Drake University, earning a B.A. in Law, Politics & Society and Rhetoric & Communication Studies in 2014. He followed that with a J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 2017, where he also received a Certificate in Sports Law from the school’s National Sports Law Institute.
His career began immediately after law school. In 2017 he joined Zacherl, O Malley & Endejan, S.C. as an associate lawyer. He handled traditional firm responsibilities, taking depositions, drafting pleadings and appearing in family court. Two years later he moved to Sterling Law Offices, S.C., where he worked as a senior associate. There he carried a heavier caseload and spent more time managing client matters and mentoring newer attorneys. In 2021 he joined Brazil & Benske, LLC as an associate attorney and remains there today.
Edwards’s affiliations reflect steady ties to family law and the legal community in Wisconsin. He is a member of The Leander J. Foley, Jr., Society of Family Lawyers, and he holds membership in The Divorce Cooperation Institute. He also participates in the Milwaukee Bar Association and the Fond du Lac County Bar Association. Since 2021 he has been a member of the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association, and he lists membership among local young professionals in Fond du Lac. These memberships have given him recurring exposure to practice-area workshops and regional legal networks.
He balances courtroom work with out-of-court problem solving. That includes negotiating settlements, preparing parenting plans, and working through property division issues. The sports law certificate from Marquette signals an interest in niche regulatory and contract questions that affect athletes and smaller organizations, though the bulk of his practice has centered on family law matters.
Colleagues describe him as practical and precise in written work. Clients tend to see him for divorce-related disputes and family-court proceedings. He is comfortable in hearings and mediations, and he spends time advising clients on procedural steps as well as strategic choices.
Edwards practices in Wisconsin and maintains memberships in several local and specialty bar organizations. He currently practices at Brazil & Benske, LLC, concentrating on family law and divorce matters.
