Michael Danko is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1983. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Danko is a founding partner at Danko Meredith, a law firm located in Redwood City, California. He has been practicing law for over 40 years, serving clients throughout Northern California and beyond.
Mr. Danko earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1983. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Dartmouth College, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980. During his time at Dartmouth, he was recognized for his academic excellence and leadership.
Mr. Danko concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury law, wrongful death, aviation litigation, and business litigation. He represents individuals and families who have suffered catastrophic injuries or loss due to the negligence or wrongdoing of others. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Danko has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Mateo, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in San Francisco for several years.
Mr. Danko is an active member of the American Association for Justice, the Consumer Attorneys of California, and the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association. He has been recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer each year since 2004, an honor accorded to less than 5 percent of the state's lawyers. He has also been named one of the "Top 100" Super Lawyers in Northern California by Thomson Reuters in multiple years. Additionally, he has been honored as the San Mateo County Trial Lawyer of the Year and has been nominated for a Trial Lawyer of the Year award by his state's trial lawyers association. Mr. Danko is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Northern California effectively.
