About Michael D.

Michael D. Molloy built his academic foundation steadily. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the College of the Holy Cross in 2007. He received a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2010 and added an LL.M. from Boston University School of Law in 2012. Those degrees gave him time to study both the mechanics of courtroom advocacy and deeper aspects of legal doctrine.

He is an attorney at Marcotte Law Office LLC. Molloy is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut. He also holds admission in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and in the U.S. Tax Court. His work spans state and federal forums, and he handles matters that require litigation in both trial courts and specialized venues.

Molloy combines courtroom work with case preparation outside the courtroom. He prepares pleadings, argues motions, and represents clients in hearings. He also handles disputes that touch on taxation and regulatory issues, in addition to more general civil litigation. He has experience presenting cases before judges in state and federal proceedings and in representing clients on complex procedural questions.

Professional associations have been part of Molloy’s calendar for years. He holds memberships in the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Lowell Bar Association since 2016. He has been on the board of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division since 2012 and has also served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce since 2012. Those roles involve governance, programming, and interaction with both legal and local business communities.

Colleagues describe Molloy as pragmatic and methodical in preparing a case and persistent in court. He draws on academic training and courtroom experience when weighing settlement against trial. He also spends time mentoring newer lawyers through professional association work. He maintains an active trial and litigation practice at Marcotte Law Office LLC, where he represents clients in civil and tax-related matters.
