About Michael Christopher
Michael Christopher Schehr earned his law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2018. He completed the J.D. program after earlier academic study, entering the legal profession at a time when many young attorneys were navigating an unsettled market. Schehr chose to set down roots in North Carolina, where he has practiced since the years immediately following graduation.
His early professional experience came as an associate at the Latorre Law Office in 2019. That role gave him a front-line view of case preparation, client interviews and courtroom procedure. The next year he took on an of-counsel role at The Fogle Law Office. The arrangement allowed him to handle a mix of matters while planning his next move.
In 2020 Schehr opened his own practice, Schehr Law. Launching a solo firm during a turbulent year required adjustments to how legal work was delivered. He balanced the managerial aspects of running a small office with day-to-day legal responsibilities. Those responsibilities included advising clients, drafting pleadings and appearing in court. Over time the practice has grown into his primary professional vehicle.
Beyond his firms, Schehr has participated in professional organizations. He has been a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice since 2019. He also holds other memberships that began in 2019, and for one organization his membership extended through 2020. Those associations have offered opportunities for continuing legal education and professional networking.
Colleagues and clients describe Schehr as methodical in preparing a case and clear when explaining options. He developed his courtroom skills early and has carried them into his private practice. The transition from associate to of-counsel to firm owner reflects a steady trajectory. It also shows a willingness to take on both legal and administrative responsibilities.
Schehr maintains an active presence in North Carolina’s legal community. He handles client matters in state courts and manages the operations of Schehr Law. He now concentrates his practice at Schehr Law, handling matters in North Carolina state courts.
