About Michael
Michael Cashman built a foundation that crosses military training, business study and legal education. He attended the United States Military Academy, moved on to the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business, and completed his law degree at the University of Minnesota Law School. The sequence shapes the way he approaches problems: structured, analytical and attentive to practical details.
His early legal career included a position as an associate at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP. There he worked on matters alongside senior lawyers and learned the rhythms of a large regional firm. The experience exposed him to coordinating work among teams and to the demands of representing clients in several venues.
Cashman is admitted to practice in seven states: Minnesota, Hawaii, North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, California and Missouri. That multi-jurisdictional admission set is unusual. It allows him to handle legal questions that cross state lines and to advise clients who operate in different regulatory environments. He also holds an active membership in the South Carolina Bar.
Education and firm experience inform how he organizes a case and communicates with clients. He combines the procedural training from the academy, the strategic thinking honed in business school, and the doctrinal grounding of law school. Day to day that translates into attention to deadlines, careful document review and practical legal advice.
After his time at Nelson Mullins, he established Cashman Law LC. The firm serves clients across the states where he is admitted. He manages client intake, oversees filings and coordinates outside counsel where a local presence is needed. The practice model emphasizes direct contact between attorney and client, and an ability to move matters across different court systems when required.
Outside the office he maintains connections to the legal community in South Carolina through his bar membership. He also draws on his broader educational background when addressing issues that touch on organizational or business concerns. His practice reflects that mix of training and experience.
He currently operates Cashman Law LC and advises clients on matters that require representation in multiple state jurisdictions.
