About Michael C
Michael C Moore took a traditional path into the law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Millsaps College in 1992 and then returned to Mississippi for his J.D. at Mississippi College School of Law, graduating in 1997. Those years combined a scientific undergraduate background with three years of legal training. They set the stage for a career split between court work and private practice.
His early professional steps included a clerkship at the Mississippi Court of Appeals in 2000. That position placed him inside the appellate system and gave him direct exposure to the mechanics of written opinions and appellate procedure. He moved into private practice the next year, joining Wilkins, Stephens & Tipton in 2001. By 2003 he was working at Foreman, Perry, Watkins, Krutz & Tardy, continuing to build courtroom and client-facing experience.
In 2007 Moore opened his own practice under the Law Office of Michael Moore. That period sharpened his handling of client matters and running a small firm. It also deepened his familiarity with local courts and procedures. In 2016 he became a partner at Barlow & Moore, PLLC, a role he holds today. The transition to partnership marked a return to collaborative practice and shared management responsibilities.
Beyond his law office work, Moore has maintained steady involvement in community and professional organizations. He has served as vice president of the Erick Dampier Foundation since 2003, a long-term role that indicates sustained engagement with the foundation’s activities. He is also a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, a membership that dates back to 2000 and remains current.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic and thorough in his approach to cases, preferring clear analysis over rhetoric. He has experience on both sides of the courthouse: a judicial clerkship early in his career, followed by many years as a trial and transactional lawyer in private practice. That mix of perspectives informs how he approaches discovery, client counseling and courtroom strategy.
Moore lives and practices in Mississippi. His office work and organizational roles reflect a career spent largely inside the state’s legal community. He continues to serve as partner at Barlow & Moore, PLLC, where his current practice focuses on matters arising in Mississippi courts and agencies.
