About Michael
Michael Baseluos combines a military academy background with graduate study in international relations and business before earning his law degree. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1995 with a B.S. in Political Science. He continued his studies at Troy State University, receiving an M.A. in International Relations in 1998, and added an MBA from Webster University in 2000. He completed his legal education at The University of Texas School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2003.
He entered private practice shortly after law school and has worked at several firms. In 2004 he joined Connell Foley, LLP, where he gained early experience in litigation. He moved to Yoss, LLP (formerly Adorno & Yoss, LLP) in 2006 and handled matters there before establishing his own practice. In 2009 he founded Baseluos Law Office and has operated it since, building a practice based on courtroom work and client representation.
Baseluos is admitted to practice in New York, Texas, and New Jersey. He holds memberships in the New York State Bar, the Texas State Bar, and the New Jersey State Bar. His professional affiliations include the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, groups that reflect his repeated work in criminal matters and trial advocacy.
Across his career he has navigated cases that required trial preparation, hearings, and negotiation. His time in different firms exposed him to civil litigation and defense work. The transition to his own firm allowed him to select matters that matched his courtroom experience and the criminal defense work associated with his bar and association memberships.
His academic background informs his approach to legal problems. The combination of political science, international relations, business administration, and law shapes how he weighs facts and strategy. The military academy training also factors into how he manages teams, prepares for trial, and approaches client counsel.
Colleagues and clients describe him as methodical and direct in handling cases. He keeps a practical orientation toward litigation and defense, addressing legal questions with an emphasis on procedure and advocacy. He currently practices at Baseluos Law Office, handling criminal defense and related litigation matters.
