About Michael
Michael Arellanez studied law at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and built a practical legal skillset early in his career. He entered the legal field in California and has worked on both sides of the criminal justice system. His education provided a foundation in trial practice, procedure and the realities of public defense work.
He spent part of 2016 in the Bail Unit at the San Francisco Public Defender's Office. There he handled bail hearings and emergency appearances. Those months exposed him to a fast pace and frequent courtroom work. He saw how early case decisions shape outcomes for clients and how immediate advocacy can change lives.
In 2017 he began a new chapter at Arellanez Legal, taking on the role of senior lawyer. The title reflects responsibility for case strategy, client counseling and courtroom representation. His practice has included litigating pretrial matters, representing clients at bail hearings and advising people on post-arrest options. He also serves as a notary public for the State of California, which allows him to handle certain administrative and document-execution needs for clients.

Outside the courtroom he manages client intake and case planning at his office in California. The switch from public defender work to private practice sharpened his attention to case management and client communication.
