About Michael A.

Michael A. McCulloch earned a J.D. from the University of Florida in 2010 after beginning law studies in 2007. He moved from law school into practice in Florida and has developed a profile that includes appearances in both state and federal forums. His training at a large public law school gave him time to test courtroom work and appellate writing during his early years as a lawyer.

He is admitted to practice in Florida and is also authorized to appear before the Federal Circuit. That combination means his work crosses procedural lines. He handles matters that begin in state court and sometimes continue into federal appellate review. His practice reflects an interest in litigation and appellate procedure rather than transactional work.

From 2016 through 2020, McCulloch served as secretary of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. In that role he took on administrative duties, helped keep minutes and records, and participated in governance discussions. The post put him in contact with colleagues across the county and offered a closer view of how local practice and court administration intersect.

He operates out of McCulloch Law, P.A., where he manages client matters and supervises case preparation. The firm handles filings, motions and hearings in both Florida courts and federal venues when cases call for it. His practice involves written advocacy and courtroom appearances, and he often works on matters that require careful appellate strategy.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in his approach to casework and focused on clear legal reasoning. He tends to break complex procedural questions into discrete steps and to prepare record-specific arguments. That approach serves him both in district courts and on appeal, especially when issues hinge on the trial record or procedural rulings.

Outside of court, McCulloch has remained engaged with local bar activities and professional colleagues. He has balanced his practice duties with those association responsibilities and with running a neighborhood law office. In 2026 he continues to practice from McCulloch Law, P.A., representing clients in matters that proceed through state and federal courts and on appeal.
