About Michael A

Michael A Hall blends an accountant’s eye for detail with legal training. He moved from number-crunching to courtroom and boardroom work over a career that crosses public accounting, corporate tax and business law. His path is straightforward and traceable: a degree in accounting, a law degree, a string of tax roles, and then a pivot to practicing business law in Idaho.

He earned a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University in 1990 and later pursued legal studies at the University of Oregon School of Law, where he received his J.D. Those two credentials shape much of his day-to-day practice. The accounting degree came first and set the technical foundation. The law degree added tools for advising businesses and owners on legal structure and compliance.

Hall began his professional life as an associate accountant at Bramble & Company after graduating in 1990. He moved into legal work as a law clerk in 1993 for Robert D. Lowry, where he gained early exposure to case preparation and legal research. In 1995 he returned to accounting and tax practice as a senior tax accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Four years later he took on the role of senior tax manager at Deloitte, LLP, where he oversaw tax planning and compliance matters for corporate clients. Those years in public accounting gave him practice handling complex tax issues for businesses of varying size.

In 2004 Hall shifted toward the private sector as development director for Kowallis & Mackey Development, LLC. That role involved business development, project oversight and financial analysis for development projects. In 2010 he began practicing law at Idaho Business Law Group, PLLC. He is admitted to practice in Idaho and has spent the past decade-plus advising local and regional clients on legal matters that intersect with financial and tax concerns.

His experience in both accounting firms and law practice gives him a practical perspective on business structure, transactions and tax compliance. He works with corporate clients, owners, and developers on entity selection, contracts, corporate governance and tax consequences of business decisions. The cumulative record shows a career built on technical skills and applied problem-solving rather than publicity.

He currently practices at Idaho Business Law Group, PLLC, where his work centers on business law and related tax matters.
