About Meredith
Meredith Gerhart built a steady legal career in Washington after studying language and the law. She earned a B.A. in Linguistics from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law. Those academic stops framed an interest in careful analysis and clear written advocacy.
Her practice began in small firm settings. In 2010 she joined The Gaia Law Office as an associate. Two years later she moved to Pope, Houser & Barnes, PLLC and William B. Pope & Associates, PLLC where she continued as an associate handling a range of family law matters. In 2013 she served as a Title 26 Guardian ad Litem in Thurston County, representing the interests of children in dependency proceedings.
Meredith returned to firm practice in 2016 as an associate at JBJ Law Group. She opened the Law Office of Meredith Gerhart in 2018 and practiced as a solo attorney, taking on contested and uncontested family law matters and related proceedings. That period of private practice gave her direct courtroom experience and more time advising clients through transitional family problems.
Her involvement in local bar activities grew alongside her caseload. Since 2019 she has held leadership roles in the Thurston County Bar Association, including service as Chair of the Family Law Section. She also maintains membership in the Young Lawyers Section and is an active member of Washington Women Lawyers. These roles have kept her connected to regional practice concerns and to peers who handle similar family law questions.
In 2024 Meredith joined Envision Family Law as an associate. At that office she continues to work on divorce, custody and parenting plans, guardianship matters, and Title 26 issues tied to child welfare. Her experience as a Guardian ad Litem informs her approach to cases that involve children's best interests and dependency court procedures.
Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparation and direct in court. Clients have encountered a lawyer comfortable in hearings and in negotiating settlements. She remains based in Washington and maintains memberships in the local bar associations noted above. Her current practice concentrates on family law and guardianship matters.
