About Megan
Megan Shore-Toca built a path to law after an early interest in science and business. She earned a J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2016. Before that she completed undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago, where her coursework combined pre‑medicine and biology and included a minor in business management.
Her legal career began in Chicago. She has been active in local and national bar organizations since the early 2010s. Her memberships include the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association, both held since 2012. She joined the American Bar Association in 2016 and has served on The John Marshall School Job Placement Advisory Board since the year she graduated from law school.
Shore-Toca’s involvement extends into trial and plaintiff advocacy groups. She is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (since 2017) and the American Association for Justice. Peer recognition has followed: she was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2021 and 2022, and The National Trial Lawyers included her among its Top 40 Under 40 and listed her as a Top 10 Nursing Home Lawyer starting in 2021.
Her practice experience is rooted in courtroom work and client representation. Colleagues describe her as someone who prepares cases thoroughly and values clear communication with clients. She has balanced litigation duties with contributions to professional committees and local legal communities, which has kept her connected to developments in trial practice and client advocacy.
In 2026 she operates out of Shore Law, LLC. The firm reflects her interest in handling matters that require trial readiness and detailed client counseling. Her background in both scientific study and business informs how she evaluates medical and care issues, and how she approaches evidentiary and liability questions.
Outside of court, Shore-Toca remains involved in legal education and professional organizations. She continues to participate in bar association activities and in advisory work linked to law school job placement. She is licensed to practice in Illinois and maintains memberships in multiple state and national legal groups. Her current practice focuses on civil litigation and matters involving nursing home care and client advocacy.
