About Megan

Megan Rogers-Hasie earned a B.A. from Colorado Mesa University before completing her J.D. at Mississippi College School of Law in 2020. Her entry into the legal field began behind the scenes as a paralegal, a role that preceded law school and offered early exposure to courtroom procedure and client files. That experience set a practical tone for her subsequent legal work.

After law school she joined Vic Carmody, Jr., P.A. as a law clerk in 2020. The following year she became an associate at the same firm, where she handled a range of tasks typical of small-firm practice. In 2021 she also worked as a guardian ad litem through Hasie Law, PLLC, taking responsibility for representing children’s interests in court proceedings. Those years combined courtroom assignments, client contact and document work in a way that broadened her courtroom experience.

Her resume also includes a stint as a paralegal at Hollis Law Office in 2016. That early position gave her a foundation in legal procedure and case management that she returned to in subsequent roles. Over time she moved from support positions into roles that placed her in direct advocacy and decision-making.

In 2024 Rogers-Hasie joined the Rankin County Public Defender’s Office. She is a current member of The Mississippi Bar and has been listed with the Mississippi Public Defender Association since 2024. Her practice in public defense places her in court regularly and involves advising clients, developing defense strategies and handling trial preparation.

Throughout her career she has navigated both private practice and public service environments. At Vic Carmody, Jr., P.A. she worked in a traditional firm setting; at Hasie Law, PLLC she took on the responsibilities associated with guardianship proceedings; and in Rankin County she moved into a public defender role that centers on criminal representation. The chronology of roles shows a practitioner who has steadily shifted toward direct client advocacy in Mississippi courts.

Rogers-Hasie’s work reflects a straightforward career arc from paralegal to attorney, with stops in small-firm practice, guardianship work and public defense. She remains active in state bar and public defender association circles in Mississippi. She now serves as a public defender for the Rankin County Public Defender’s Office, handling criminal defense matters.
