About Max T.
Max T. Stephenson took a straightforward route into law. He completed a B.S. at Marquette University in 2010 and returned to Marquette for a J.D., which he earned in 2013. Those years in Milwaukee shaped his early legal interests and put him to work in a range of entry-level roles before and during law school.
Before law school he held a consulting role at Metropolitan Cadillac Saab in 2007 and later worked as a clerical assistant at Foley & Lardner LLP in 2008. While enrolled at Marquette Law School he volunteered for the Milwaukee Foreclosure Mediation Program in 2011 and served as a law clerk that same year at the Law Offices of Jonathan V. Goodman. He is listed as having worked at Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown, LLP in 2012 in a lawyer role and later rejoined that firm in a professional capacity.
Stephenson’s professional affiliations track his move into local practice. He has been a member of the Milwaukee Bar Association since 2013 and joined The Leander J. Foley, Jr. Matrimonial American Inn of Court in 2014. In 2018 he served as president of the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association, a role that placed him in contact with young attorneys across the city and provided experience in organizational leadership.
Those varied roles — from clerical work to law clerk to firm lawyer — give an outline of a career built in Milwaukee. He has remained connected to the city’s legal community through volunteer work and association memberships. The pattern is one of steady involvement rather than abrupt transitions.
Today he practices in Wisconsin and maintains an office at Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown, LLP. His work is centered on serving clients through the firm’s local practice in Wisconsin state matters. He continues to participate in local bar activities and Inn of Court events while practicing at his firm.
