About Maurice
Maurice Davis built his academic foundation at Michigan State University, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science and Pre-Law in 2004. He went on to Florida State University College of Law and received his J.D. in 2009. Those years shaped his approach to legal analysis and courtroom preparation. He studied the mechanics of the law and the strategies that play out in contested matters.
After law school he became active in the Illinois legal community, joining the Illinois State Bar Association in 2009. Three years later he added membership in the State Bar of Michigan. Those two admissions gave him the ability to practice in neighboring jurisdictions and allowed him to build a cross-state practice. His registrations reflect steady professional engagement in both states since the early 2010s.
In 2012 he launched Davis Law Group PLLC and has served as lawyer and founder since. He has overseen the firm’s operations and client work while managing filings and appearances in both Michigan and Illinois. Running a smaller firm required him to blend casework and administrative responsibilities. He has handled intake, case strategy, and courtroom appearances as part of that role.
His professional associations remain active. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association (since 2009) and the State Bar of Michigan (since 2012). Those memberships have kept him connected to bar developments and regional practice trends. He maintains a main office and accepts matters that arise in the two states where he is licensed.
Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and thorough in preparation. He has developed a practice that serves individual and business clients who need counsel in matters that arise under state law. He splits time between the two jurisdictions depending on case needs and filings. His current practice centers on representing clients in matters before Michigan and Illinois state courts.
