About Matthew

Matthew Zatko moved from undergraduate studies in political science to a three-year run in law school at the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his B.S. in Political Science in 1994 after starting college in 1990. He stayed on at the same university for his legal training, completing a J.D. in 1997.

His academic path is rooted in Pittsburgh. The city shaped both his study choices and his early legal work. After law school he established his practice in Pennsylvania and became an active member of the Pennsylvania State Bar. He has maintained that membership while carrying out his work across state forums.

Over the years Zatko has handled a variety of matters in Pennsylvania. His background in political science informs how he reads statutes and administrative rules. He brings that perspective to cases that involve state agencies, courtroom proceedings and transactional questions that arise under state law.

Colleagues describe him as steady and deliberate in approach. He favors careful preparation and clear drafting. In court he aims to be precise and to make concise arguments. In client matters he tends to prioritize practical solutions that can be implemented without unnecessary delay.

Outside of direct case work he has remained connected to professional life in the state. He keeps current through the Pennsylvania State Bar and through ongoing exposure to the region’s legal issues. That connection helps him respond when laws change or when new regulatory developments affect clients.

Zatko’s trajectory is straightforward: a local undergraduate education in political science, a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and an ongoing practice in Pennsylvania. He lives his professional life within the state’s legal system and focuses on matters that arise under Pennsylvania law. His current practice concentrates on representing clients in Pennsylvania state matters.
