About Matthew S.
Matthew S. Parmet began his path toward law after studying psychology and Spanish at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.A. in 2005. He went on to Tulane University School of Law and received his J.D. in 2009. Those early years set the stage for a practice that combines courtroom work and employment law matters.
He is licensed to practice in four states: Louisiana, Texas, California and Colorado. He holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, the California Employment Lawyers Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association. These affiliations reflect the kinds of cases he handles and the professional circles in which he works.
Parmet’s career has involved litigation and advocacy. He has been active in trial settings and in employment-related disputes, appearing in court and in pre-trial proceedings. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and direct in the courtroom. He balances the procedural demands of litigation with the client-facing work that often accompanies employment matters.
Clients who seek him out typically present workplace disputes, wrongful termination claims, wage-and-hour issues and related employment concerns. He works on both individual and representative matters. His trial association memberships indicate a practice that regularly engages with contested cases rather than routine transactions. He uses depositions, motions practice and courtroom advocacy as part of his approach to resolving disagreements.
Outside the courtroom, Parmet stays involved in the professional community through the organizations he belongs to. He participates in continuing legal education and contributes to discussions on litigation strategy and employment law developments. That engagement keeps him current on changes in employment regulations and procedural rules. He currently maintains a practice handling employment disputes and litigation.
