About Matthew
Matthew Maerowitz earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston College in 2010 and completed his J.D. at the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona in 2013. Those years framed his entry into law. They also placed him in a set of practical roles that shaped his early career.
Soon after law school, Maerowitz stepped into the legal workforce in several capacities. In 2012 he served as a Rule 38(d) student-prosecutor for Pima County and worked as a law clerk at Shorall McGoldrick Brinkmann. He spent time that year as a student representative for Thomson Reuters Westlaw, an experience that kept him close to legal research tools. In 2013 he worked as a workflow coordinator at Elevate Services, a role that exposed him to the operational side of legal services.
In 2014 Maerowitz opened The Maerowitz Law Office, LLC. He has run the firm since then. The office operates under Arizona jurisdiction. Over the years he has maintained ties to bar and community organizations. He has been a member of the Maricopa County Bar Association since 2013 and joined the Association of Sole Practitioners and Small Firms of Arizona in 2014. From 2015 through 2020 he participated in the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education’s Modest Means Project, a program designed to increase access to legal help for lower- and moderate-income clients.
Maerowitz’s background before law school also included teaching and coaching. In 2010 he was a policy debate coach at Salpointe Catholic High School. That period reinforced advocacy skills and public speaking habits that would carry into his legal work.
His practice has the hallmarks of a small firm run by a sole practitioner. He handles client intake, case preparation and courtroom work through his own office. Colleagues and clients encounter a lawyer who moved quickly from law student roles into solo practice, maintaining local bar connections along the way.
As of 2026 Matthew Maerowitz continues to operate The Maerowitz Law Office, LLC, representing clients in matters arising under Arizona law through that firm.
