About Matthew M.
Matthew M. Foti built a foundation in the study of crime and the law before he entered practice. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2012. He then completed his J.D. at Suffolk University Law School in 2016.
While in law school he pursued hands-on legal experience. In 2014 he interned at Jeruchim and Davenport, LLP and at the Suffolk County District Lawyer’s Office. Those stints exposed him to courtroom procedure and case preparation. In 2015 he worked as a law clerk at Rawson, Merrigan & Litner, LLP, where he handled research and drafted memoranda.
His career path traces back to roles in public safety. He served as a corrections officer in 2009 with the Middlesex Deputy Sheriff Association. In 2011 he worked as a public safety officer for the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. Those positions gave him direct exposure to law enforcement operations and the challenges of custodial environments.
In 2019 he established his own practice, Foti Law. As the firm's owner he oversees firm operations and client matters. He brings together his academic background and practical experience in law enforcement and clinic work to guide how the firm approaches cases.
Membership in professional organizations is part of his routine. He holds current memberships in the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is also a member of the Free Masons. These affiliations connect him to peers across the state and to civic networks outside the courthouse.
Practicing in Massachusetts, he draws on years of courtroom exposure, clerking experience, and public safety work to inform his approach to representation. He manages a small firm environment where he consults with clients, prepares filings and navigates state court procedures. He currently focuses his practice on matters arising in Massachusetts.
