About Matthew

Matthew Kish built his path to law in two phases of formal study. He completed a bachelor’s degree in pre-law and justice studies at Arizona State University in 1991 after beginning undergraduate work in 1987. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, finishing his legal studies in the mid-1990s. Those years shaped his practical approach to litigation and appellate work.

Kish is admitted to practice before multiple courts. His jurisdictions include the U.S. Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit, and the state bars of California and Florida. That range of admissions reflects a career that spans both state and federal practice. It also means he is eligible to handle matters that start in trial courts and move to appellate forums when necessary.

Early in his career Kish gained experience across different court settings. He has worked on cases that required appearances in state trial courts and in federal districts, and he has handled appeals at circuit level. His background in pre-law and his legal training in California informed a practice that moves between factual advocacy and written appellate advocacy. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and straightforward in courtroom presentation.

Over time Kish has balanced work between two Florida locations. His main office is in Palm Beach County, and he maintains a presence in Miami-Dade County. Those offices serve different client needs and give him a broad view of legal issues that arise across South Florida. He has experience coordinating filings and hearings across counties and, where necessary, in other states due to his multi-jurisdictional admissions.

Clients and other lawyers who have worked with Kish note his preference for clear, practical explanations of legal options. He tends to break complex matters into discrete steps. He writes for judges and speaks for clients, adapting tone and detail to the arena at hand. That pragmatic style has guided how he prepares cases for trial and appeal alike.

Kish continues to practice law in Florida while remaining admitted in California and federal appellate courts. He maintains offices in Palm Beach County and Miami-Dade County and practices in both state and federal courts in Florida and California.
