About Matthew Kent
Matthew Kent Taylor built his academic foundation in business before moving into law. He earned a B.S. in Business Management from Linfield College in 2003. He then completed a J.D. at Albany Law School in 2008.
After law school, Taylor moved into private practice and later established his office under the name Taylor Law Offices. He has been a member of the Idaho State Bar since 2011, a credential that anchors his ability to represent clients in state courts. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, which permits him to handle appellate matters that reach that federal court.
His career blends courtroom work and transactional matters. That mix reflects his undergraduate training in business and his legal education. He handles cases that involve business disputes, contractual issues, and litigation. In practice he prepares filings, argues motions, and works through negotiations. He also prepares appellate briefs and appears in appellate settings when matters progress beyond trial courts.
Colleagues describe Taylor as methodical in his approach to case preparation. He tends to break complex problems into their component parts and to address legal and factual issues step by step. Clients who work with him can expect detailed attention to documents and court procedures. He emphasizes clear communication about schedules, deadlines, and procedural requirements in every matter he handles.
Taylor’s membership in the Idaho State Bar dates to 2011 and remains current. He maintains the professional registrations necessary for courtroom practice and appellate filings. He does not hold a public academic post or a listed judicial appointment, but he continues to accept matters in both trial and appellate contexts.
Outside of court appearances, Taylor spends time drafting pleadings, reviewing contracts, and advising clients on risk and compliance issues that arise in business operations. He balances litigation work with preventive counseling aimed at reducing the chance of future disputes. He also prepares appellate work where issues of law require a review beyond the trial record.
Today he practices through Taylor Law Offices. His work combines business law, litigation, and appellate practice, and he represents clients in state and federal matters appropriate to those areas of law.
