About Matthew
Matthew Karchmar built a steady legal foundation in the Midwest. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in 1994 and went on to receive his J.D. from DePaul College of Law in 1997. Those years shaped the practical side of his approach to the law and set the stage for a career centered in Illinois.
He is licensed to practice in Illinois. Early in his career he moved into private practice and over time took on greater responsibilities at his firm. In 2002 he became a partner at Karchmar & Lambert, P.C. That mark on his résumé reflects nearly a quarter-century in private practice leadership. As a partner he handles the day-to-day demands of client matters and oversees other lawyers and staff at the firm. He also participates in the administrative side of running a law office, including case strategy and client communication.

He appears in state courts and engages in negotiations, filings and hearings on behalf of those he represents.
