About Matthew
Matthew Goodwin built a legal path that moved quickly from law school into private practice. He earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan in 2011. He then completed his J.D. at the University of Florida in 2014. Those academic stops set the stage for an early start in Florida law.
Fresh out of law school, he joined Rohe Twyman, P.A. as an associate in 2014. The role gave him immediate exposure to the day-to-day work of practicing attorneys in a firm setting. A year later he launched his own firm. In 2015 he opened Goodwin Law, P.A. and took on the responsibilities of owner and principal attorney.
His work has included participation in local professional groups. Since 2016 he has been a member of the Naples Board of Realtors and has served on its Legal Resources Committee. That committee work has put him in regular contact with legal issues that affect real estate professionals and the local property market. He also maintains other professional memberships.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in client matters and practical in approach. He tends to present options clearly so clients can make informed decisions. He balances courtroom readiness with an eye toward resolving disputes without protracted proceedings when that is possible. Early years in a firm setting and then running his own practice have shaped how he manages client expectations and firm operations.
Running a small firm has required him to handle both casework and the business side of practice. He manages filings, client intake, and the administrative tasks that come with ownership, alongside substantive legal work. The move to create his own firm reflected a desire for direct control over case handling and client relationships.
Outside of casework, his committee role with the Naples Board of Realtors has involved advising on legal questions and contributing to resources for local real estate professionals. That engagement keeps him connected to issues affecting property transactions and the regulatory landscape in Naples and the surrounding region.
He currently practices at Goodwin Law, P.A., representing clients in Florida and addressing matters that include issues arising in real estate transactions and related local legal concerns.
