About Matthew
Matthew Fendon earned his undergraduate degree in Communication and Media Studies from Grand Canyon University. He later completed an MBA at the University of Phoenix in 2003 and received his J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2008. That sequence — communications, business and then law — informs how he approaches client matters and courtroom strategy.
He became active in Arizona legal circles after law school. In 2008 he served as managing partner of Fendon Law Office. He later founded Matt Fendon Law Group and operates there as lawyer and principal. He is admitted to practice in Arizona and at the Federal Circuit. He has held membership in the Arizona State Bar since 2008.
Fendon holds board certification in Workers' Compensation Law from the Arizona State Bar. That credential marks a recognized specialization within the state bar system and shapes the kinds of cases he accepts. Over the years his practice has concentrated on claims and hearings that arise under Arizona's workers' compensation framework.
Professional associations have played a visible role in his career. He has been a member of the Workers Injury Law Advocacy Group and the Arizona Association for Justice since 2009. He joined the Maricopa County Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division in 2011 and participated on the county bar's Lawyer Referral Service Committee in 2013 and 2014. In 2019 he took on the presidency of the Arizona Association of Lawyers for Injured Workers, a post he continues to hold. Those roles have kept him involved in rule discussions, continuing education and peer work on policy affecting injured workers.
Clients encounter a lawyer who combines courtroom experience with an education in communication and business. He represents individuals through hearings, settlement negotiations and administrative proceedings tied to workplace injury claims. His admission to the Federal Circuit and to state courts gives him the ability to address matters that move between state administrative systems and federal forums when necessary.
He currently practices at Matt Fendon Law Group, handling workers' compensation and related matters.
