About Matthew F
Matthew F Dolan began his legal path at the University of Connecticut. He earned a B.A. in 2009 and stayed at the same school to complete his J.D. in 2012. Those years at UConn shaped his understanding of Connecticut law and local practice.
After law school he entered private practice and built a career in family law. He is a partner at Dolan Divorce Lawyers PLLC. He has also operated from offices associated with Dolan & Dolan, LLC in Guilford and New Haven. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
His courtroom work includes appointment as a Certified Guardian Ad Litem in Connecticut. That role has involved evaluations and recommendations in contested custody matters. Outside of guardian work he has handled divorce proceedings, custody and visitation disputes, and related family law litigation.
Dolan has been a member of several professional groups since 2012. He belongs to the New Haven County Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the Connecticut Bar Association. Those affiliations reflect regular contact with local judges, opposing counsel and peers, and keep him active in the bar community.
Clients encounter a practitioner who combines trial experience with case-management work. He prepares cases for court when necessary and seeks negotiated resolutions when they are possible. His practice has included contested hearings and settlement negotiations, and he serves on cases that require both advocacy and the kinds of factual assessments typical in family disputes.
He maintains offices tied to his practice locations in Guilford and New Haven and continues to work in Connecticut courts. He represents clients in divorce, child custody, and related family law matters.
