About Tara C.
Tara C. Dugo studied sociology before turning to law. She earned a B.A. from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2001 and later completed her J.D. at Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in 2011. Her academic path combined an interest in social systems with legal training, a background that shaped the kinds of cases she would take on early in her career.
She entered practice in Connecticut soon after law school. Her first role listed is as an associate at Schoonmaker, George, Colin & Blomberg, P.C., beginning in 2011. That position gave her courtroom exposure and experience in civil matters. In 2013 she moved to Roberts Family Law as an associate, where she handled domestic relations work and learned the procedural and client-management demands of family law practice.
Dugo spent the next years building on that foundation. In 2018 she became a senior lawyer at GraberRoberts, LLC, a role that expanded her case load and placed her in a mentoring position for less experienced attorneys. Two years later she launched her own firm, becoming the managing lawyer of Dugo Law, LLC in 2020. Running a small firm required her to shift between advocacy, case strategy, and the administrative side of law practice.
Membership in bar and local organizations has been a steady part of her professional life. She has held memberships in the Connecticut Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Fairfield County Bar Association since 2011. Those memberships have kept her connected to developments in state practice and to colleagues across practice areas.
Her work has centered on family law and related civil matters. She has handled divorce proceedings, child custody and parenting time disputes, and matters involving spousal and child support. Her case work has involved negotiation as well as contested hearings when settlement proved elusive. Colleagues describe her as methodical in courtroom preparation and practical in settlement discussions.
Since founding Dugo Law, LLC she has taken on the roles of advocate and manager. She continues to represent clients in family law matters and to oversee the practice’s daily operations. She maintains an active presence in Connecticut legal circles and accepts matters through her firm. She currently practices family law and related civil litigation at Dugo Law, LLC.
