About Matthew

Matthew Erjavec studied law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and earned his J.D. in 2005. He arrived in the legal profession after completing his studies and began building his practice in Florida soon after. His legal education set a foundation for courtroom work and client advocacy that has shaped his career path.

He entered private practice in the mid-2000s. In 2006 he worked as a lawyer at Winters & Yonker, P.A., where he handled cases and developed trial experience. Three years later he took on a leadership role at Erjavec Injury Law, becoming the firm’s principal in 2009. That move established him as a central figure in a small firm environment where he could direct case strategy and client relations.

His practice centers on injury law, reflected in the name of his firm. He handles personal injury matters and represents individuals in disputes arising from accidents and related incidents. He has taken cases through state and federal courts and manages both pretrial work and litigation. The files he handles tend to require attention to evidence, witness preparation and negotiation, as well as courtroom presentation when cases go to trial.

Erjavec is licensed to practice in Florida and licensed to appear before federal courts that serve the region. His admissions include the Eleventh Circuit and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. That mix of state and federal access allows him to bring matters in the forum appropriate to the case and to respond to procedural differences that arise at different levels of the judiciary.

He belongs to several professional organizations. His memberships include the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the American Association for Justice, Legal Aid of Manasota and the Better Business Bureau. Those associations supply contact with peers, opportunities for legal education and community resources that intersect with his practice.

Erjavec maintains offices in Lakewood Ranch and Parrish and operates from those locations as principal of his firm. He represents clients in personal injury cases and continues to handle litigation and client counseling at his offices.
